Better Late Than Never

Dear family, friends, and family-friendly readers,

Welcome to Japan! Well, at least, welcome to my weblog about Japan. (Let the pretending begin!)

It's been a while since we've spoken, if at all. We may not even know each other, but that's fine, too.

Some quick background info: After being hired by the Japanese government, I arrived here from America on August 1, 2010.

I am, like so many others, an English teacher residing in a foreign country, doing what feels pretty good.

What I do every day is a complex story, but I promise that through some very easy reading, it will all be revealed.

It may even be interesting! I really hope so. In fact, if this gets too boring for me to type, I'll stop. Fair deal?

So, you may be wondering, why write now? With an August arrival, isn't there six months worth of catching up to do?

Well, that would be true, if this was a story that needed a linear structure. It doesn't.

In fact, getting a little lost is the perfect way for any adventure to begin, so let's see how this one unfolds!

          Sincerely,

                    Brian
